Posting Spots

Preparation Before Posting

Q. I'm not sure which category to choose.

A. Please see the category list.

Q. Can I use any name for a spot?

A. You can enter any name, but clarity is important. A format like "Facility name + location + floor + equipment name" is recommended. (Example: Shinjuku Station, East Exit, Ticket Gate Floor, Restroom)

Q. I can't find the Google Places information for the store I want to post.

A. In addition to searching by "store name" or "spot name" on Google Maps, you can also search by category (such as "restaurant", "café", or "hotel") near a location, or use combined keywords like "karaoke Tokyo Station" or "convenience store Shinjuku". If you can't find it, try rephrasing or using different words and search again.

Questions About Photos and Videos

Q. What kinds of photos should I post?

A. Please see the posting examples.

Q. How many photos can I post at once?

A. You can add up to 9 photos at a time. Aim for a maximum of around 20 photos total (considering display load).

Q. Can I post a spot without including a photo?

A. You can post without a photo, but either a comment or a photo is required. Please include photos whenever possible.

Q. Can I post videos?

A. Direct video upload is not supported, but you can register one video URL (such as a YouTube link) per spot.

Q. Can I post a floor map?

A. Photos taken on-site can be posted as-is. For images sourced from a website, please include the URL instead.

Questions About Location

Q. I sometimes lose track of where a spot is located. What should I do?

A. Find a method that works for you.

  • Post on-site while you are there
  • Submit a draft post and correct the location later
  • Use another device to display a map and align the location

Q. How can I set a precise location?

A. Zooming in on the map as far as possible makes it easier to set a more accurate location.

Q. Sometimes the location is off even when I post on-site. Why?

A. Depending on satellite signal conditions, GPS can become unstable in urban canyons or indoors, causing the location to be off.

Additional Notes on Post Content

Q. A manual door is very heavy. Can I include that kind of feedback?

A. Yes, please do include that kind of observation in the comment field. It is valuable information.

Q. Can I post even if my information is incomplete?

A. Yes — even just a photo of the entrance is extremely useful. Also, if you have confirmed the location in person, a comment-only post is very welcome even without a photo.

Q. Is it okay if I accidentally post a duplicate?

A. Please check whether an existing post already exists whenever possible. That said, it is understandable that duplicates can happen when multiple people post at the same time.

Editing and Adding to Posts

Q. Can I edit a spot I posted?

A. If you posted the spot yourself, you can edit it by tapping the "Edit" button.

Q. Can I add to another person's post?

A. You can add photos or post a comment. Filling in missing information helps create more complete and useful spot pages.

Q. Can I add a photo to an existing spot?

A. Tap the button in the top right of the spot detail screen and select "Photo".
